Mahoosuc Notch, NH. Very Difficult and very strenuous. 9.4 miles. 10 hour hike. The toughest and longest mile on the AT. Spot cars on Success Pond Road and hike in on the Notch Trail. At the Notch, we will climb over, crawl under and navigate through the boulder-filled Notch. Then ascend the steep slope of the Mahoosuc Arm, descend to Speck Pond Trail (the highest tarn in the State) and hike out on the Speck Pond Trail.
