Bamforth Ridge Shelter tent platforms
Description
From Lorne Currier of GMC:\nI’m reaching out to you because we’ve got a plan to replace the aging tent platforms at Bamforth Ridge. A group of 15-20 volunteers from the Vermont Air National Guard(VANG) reached out to me recently inquiring about volunteer opportunities. We’re going to put them to the test carrying up the lumber and building materials for the new platforms. Hopefully we can get the ducks-in-a-row to have the old platforms dismantled, bring in the new material, start building new platforms and then have the VANG carry down the old material which needs to be carried down. If any of the lumber is pressure-treated, which I suspect it is, it must be carried out and disposed of properly. I’m thinking VANG will be most useful in carrying in new material, not necessarily doing the re-building. Directing and leading 20 builders on such a small project isn’t something I want to take on but I’ll gladly load them up like old pack donkeys.
